Understanding Dispatch Game Mechanics
Dispatch game combines choice-based narrative with hero management. You play as Robert Robertson (Mecha Man), who works as a dispatcher assigning heroes to emergencies. Here's how it works:
Hero Stats Explained
Each of the 8 heroes in Dispatch has five core stats:
- Combat: Fighting ability and physical strength
- Intellect: Problem-solving and analytical skills
- Charisma: Persuasion and social interaction
- Mobility: Speed, agility, and traversal abilities
- Vigor: Endurance and resistance to damage
Matching Heroes to Missions
Each emergency call displays required stats. Send a hero whose strengths match those requirements. For example, a hostage negotiation needs high Charisma and Intellect, making Prism or Sonar ideal choices. Check our tier list for the best heroes for each mission type.
Choice System
Dialogue choices affect your relationships with heroes and office staff. While most choices are flavor, some significantly impact the story. Our all choices guide details every major decision and its consequences.
Episode 1: Pivot - Complete Walkthrough
Episode 1: Pivot introduces you to the world of Dispatch, your role as dispatcher, and the core cast of characters. Released on October 22, 2025, this episode sets up the story and mechanics you'll use throughout all 8 episodes.
Episode 1 Overview
- Playtime: 1.5-2 hours
- Heroes Available: All 8 heroes unlocked
- Major Choices: 3 story-affecting decisions
- Achievements: 5 available (see our achievements guide)
Day 1 - First Dispatch Shift
Office Introduction
The episode begins with Robert arriving at the SDN dispatch office for his first day. You'll meet the office staff and get a tutorial on the dispatch system.
Choice - Greet Your Boss: Your first dialogue choice sets the tone. All options are safe, but choosing the humble response ("Thanks for the opportunity") builds early rapport.
Emergency Call #1 - Bank Robbery
Required Stats: Combat 6+, Vigor 5+
Recommended Heroes:
- Golem (Best choice - Combat 9, Vigor 10)
- Flambae (Combat 8, Vigor 6)
- Prism (Combat 7, but lower Vigor)
Outcome: Sending Golem results in a clean victory with no collateral damage. Flambae succeeds but causes minor property damage. Other heroes may struggle.
Emergency Call #2 - Missing Person (Psychological)
Required Stats: Intellect 7+, Charisma 6+
Recommended Heroes:
- Sonar (Best choice - Intellect 8, Charisma 6)
- Prism (Charisma 9, Intellect 6)
- Malevola (Balanced stats)
This case involves talking down a distressed individual. Sonar's high Intellect helps solve the underlying issue, while Prism's Charisma can de-escalate the situation.
Emergency Call #3 - Rooftop Chase
Required Stats: Mobility 8+
Recommended Heroes:
- Invisigal (Best choice - Mobility 10)
- Coupé (Mobility 9)
A high-speed pursuit across rooftops. Invisigal's superior Mobility makes this trivial, while Coupé also excels at solo chase scenarios.
Mid-Episode - Office Politics
Choice - Side with Manager or Team
After your third dispatch, tensions rise between your manager and the hero team. You're asked to weigh in on a dispute.
- "I agree with the manager": Improves boss relationship, slightly lowers hero morale
- "I think the team has a point": Improves hero relationships, may cause friction with management
- "Let's find a compromise": Neutral choice, maintains balance
Recommendation: The compromise option is safest for a first playthrough. However, siding with heroes early builds trust for later episodes. See our all choices guide for long-term consequences.
Day 2 - Advanced Dispatching
Emergency Call #4 - Multi-Hero Mission
Required Stats: Combat 7+, Mobility 6+ (needs 2 heroes)
This is your first multi-hero dispatch. You'll send two heroes to handle a complex situation.
Recommended Pairing:
- Coupé + Golem: Excellent balance of mobility and combat power
- Flambae + Invisigal: Alternative pairing with different synergies
Heroes have synergy bonuses. Coupé works well with heavy hitters like Golem, while Invisigal prefers stealthy partners. Check our heroes guide for all synergy combinations.
Episode 1 Finale - Major Story Choice
The episode climaxes with a critical decision that affects Episode 2 and beyond.
🚨 Major Story Choice
Choice - How to Handle the Crisis:
- "Send multiple teams": Safer approach, spreads heroes thin for Episode 2
- "Focus all resources on the main threat": Risky but leaves reserve heroes for next episode
- "Evacuate civilians first": Heroic choice, improves public perception
Each choice leads to different Episode 2 starting conditions. No "wrong" answer, but the civilian evacuation choice unlocks a special achievement.
Episode 1 Achievements
- "First Day on the Job": Complete Episode 1 (automatic)
- "Perfect Dispatch": Successfully complete all calls with recommended heroes
- "People Person": Choose dialogue options that improve all relationships
- "Hero of the People": Choose civilian evacuation in final choice
- "Speed Runner": Complete Episode 1 in under 90 minutes
See our complete achievements guide for detailed unlock instructions.
Episode 2: Onboard - Complete Walkthrough
Episode 2: Onboard builds on Episode 1's foundation, introducing more complex hero management and deeper story elements. This episode is shorter but denser with important choices.
Episode 2 Overview
- Playtime: 1.5-2 hours
- New Mechanics: Hero fatigue system, priority dispatch
- Major Choices: 4 story-affecting decisions
- Carries Over: Your Episode 1 finale choice affects starting conditions
New Mechanic - Hero Fatigue
Episode 2 introduces hero fatigue. Heroes who dispatched multiple times in Episode 1 may start tired, reducing their stats by 1-2 points. Manage your roster carefully and avoid overusing the same heroes.
Tip: Rotate your hero roster evenly. If you relied heavily on Golem in Episode 1, give him rest in early Episode 2 calls.
Episode 2 Dispatch Calls
Emergency Call #1 - Chemical Spill
Required Stats: Intellect 7+, Vigor 8+
Best Heroes: Sonar (if well-rested), Golem, Malevola
This hazmat situation requires both brains and endurance. If Sonar is fatigued from Episode 1, Malevola's balanced stats make her the safer choice.
Emergency Call #2 - Public Relations Crisis
Required Stats: Charisma 8+
Best Heroes: Prism (Charisma 9)
Prism is your go-to for high-Charisma needs. This call involves calming an angry crowd and requires exceptional social skills.
Mid-Episode Story Beat
Robert faces a personal crisis that affects his dispatch performance. Your dialogue choices here impact his mental state and hero relationships for the rest of the series.
Episode 2 Achievements
- "Onboard and Onwards": Complete Episode 2
- "No Hero Left Behind": Don't send any fatigued heroes
- "Master Dispatcher": Perfect success rate on all calls
- "Heart to Heart": Have a meaningful conversation with a specific character (spoiler-free here)

Multiple Playthroughs Recommended
Due to branching choices and mutually exclusive paths, you'll need at least 2-3 playthroughs to see all content and unlock all achievements.
Hero Rotation Strategy
To avoid fatigue penalties and unlock hero-specific story content:
- Don't send the same hero more than twice per episode
- Try to use all 8 heroes at least once per episode
- Save your strongest heroes (Coupé, Golem, Prism) for critical late-episode calls
- Build balanced stat spreads when upgrading heroes (see our tier list)
Choice Tracking
Keep notes on major choices for each playthrough. Our all choices guide has a printable checklist to track which branches you've explored.
Achievement Hunting
Some achievements are missable if you don't meet specific conditions:
- Many require specific hero combinations or perfect success rates
- Story-based achievements need particular dialogue choices
- Speed-run achievements can't be earned alongside exploration achievements
Plan your playthroughs accordingly. First playthrough: explore naturally. Second: target missed achievements. Third: speed-run achievements.
Relationship Building
Strong relationships unlock unique dialogue and story branches. To maximize relationships:
- Always choose supportive dialogue options
- Send heroes on missions matching their personality (Prism likes diplomatic missions, Golem prefers combat)
- Complete optional office conversations between dispatch shifts
- Remember character backstories revealed in earlier episodes when making choices
